As a result of the A38 Marsh Mills Viaduct Project WBM Groundworks Ltd were awarded a similar project on the A38 at Okehampton. The scheme involved suspending 50M of 225mm of ductile iron pipes from the off side of both the eastbound and westbound structures.
Unlike Marsh Mills there was no access from the underside of the bridge. The logistical challenge of constructing the drainage provided the team with the biggest challenge but the scheme was delivered on budget and ahead of programme.
