Noss Marina

Working on behalf of Dyer & Butler Ltd WBM Groundworks Ltd were awarded the project to construct the widening of a masonry arch railway bridge which spanned the Dartmouth Steam Railway, formerly known as the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway.

The works required the existing decking and masonry parapets to be removed and the deck widened using precast units. The precast units were lifted onto place using a 200t crane, masonry infill panels constructed to face the units and the carriageway reconstructed.

Despite the snow and the logistical challenges the team delivered the works on budget and ahead of programme.
