A38 Marsh Mills Viaduct Drainage Improvement

In recent times motorists on the A38 eastbound carriageway have been reporting standing water problems in lane 1 during times of heavy rain. Working in conjunction with Enterprisemouchel, on behalf of the Highways Agency, we installed a new drainage system.

The scheme involved suspending 75 metres of 225mm diameter ductile iron drainage pipes from the soffit of the bridge, some 15m above ground level. Once installed we then had to install a new kerb drainage system on the deck.
