A highway wall by the old Saltash ferry was in need of structural strengthening. The scheme was unsual as it was the top 2m of an 8m exisitng wall that was founded on wethering bedrock.
The technically challening scheme invovled:
removing the existing vegetation
drilling rock anchors (up to 16m in legth)
constructing a reinforced concrete wall
facing the wall with stone
gunite spray to the exposed bedrock
re-pointing of the existing masonry
construction of a new footpath.
